

The chick starts by perforating the shell. It cuts out all butt end of egg. Finally in a last push, the lid is detached and the chick comes out.

The chicks are born wet and need a few hours to dry. It is not necessary to give to eat or drink because they have the reserves of the vitellus (egg yolk) for this period.
As soon as they are dry, the chicks are transferred in a maternity.
