For the manking, the sexual chromosomes of the man are XY, the one of the woman are XX.

For birds, it is the opposite. The male is ZZ and the female is ZW.

You should know that at the time of fecundation, the plays are made: the chromosomes are mixed in a single way and thus the sex is given.

Several people would like to know as soon as possible after hatching the sex of the chicks. If the professional stockbreeders can get an exconomoic advantage from this information, the amateur is also interested to know how much layers could enrich the breeding.

The sexage by the feathers

This method is only possible for breedings where the sexual marking of the feathers is apparent at time of hatching (auto-sexables breedings). For other, another method should be used.

The sexage of chicks by the wings can hardly be done a few hours after hatching. At the end of wings, there are 2 lines of feathers: primary and secondary.

For the male or cockerel, the end of the 2 lines of feathers finish at the same level.

For the female or pullet, the end of the primary and secondary feathers do not finish at the same level.

The sexage by the cesspool

The Japanese developed a method of sexage based on the examination of the anal area of chicks. This method was documented by professors Masui and Hashimoto in 1933. Since then, the Japanese sexors or trained at the Japanese school exert their art everywhere in the world.

Sexual organs are internal for birds. By opening the cesspool slightly, it is possible to observe the differences between male and female. There are about 15 different internale configurations. This is the reason why the technique is only profitable for an exerted eye.

The method consists in getting out some feces, which opens a little their rectum. If the sexor sees a small bump there, it is a male. If not, it is a female.
